Drain Clearing & Sewer Repair Services

Fast solutions for blockages, damaged pipework and stormwater problems.

Street trees across Chiswick are the main reason roots grow into old sewer pipes and cause repeat blockages. We clear the pipe and show you on camera exactly where the problem is, so you know whether a one-off repair is enough or whether relining is worth considering.

Blocked Drain Clearance

From kitchen sinks to the main sewer line, we clear every kind of blockage, including grease, tree roots, and debris, with professional-grade equipment.

Before bringing out equipment, we work out exactly where the blockage is: near the sink, in a stack, or in the main run outside the property. The clearance method depends on the location and cause (grease, hair, roots, building debris).

CCTV Drain Inspection

High-definition cameras inspect the inside of your pipes without digging. You get a report with photo evidence of the problem.

A camera survey is especially useful before buying a property or when blockages keep recurring. The camera shows cracks, displaced joints and root ingress that can't be spotted without digging.

High-Pressure Jetting

A powerful water jet blasts through stubborn blockages, grease buildup and tree roots, restoring your pipes capacity.

Jetting strips grease and limescale build-up from the pipe walls along its full length, which extends the time before the next blockage compared with a standard rod.

Pipe Relining

A modern alternative to full pipe replacement. A durable liner is inserted inside the damaged pipe, creating a pipe within a pipe with minimal excavation.

This method restores a damaged section of pipe from the inside without digging up the garden or driveway. This is useful for Chiswick's terraced properties, where access to the rear drain run is often limited.

Sewer Repairs

From small cracks to full collapses, we restore sewer systems with as little disruption to your property as possible.

Work on a main sewer line connecting to the public network is coordinated with Thames Water where required.

Stormwater Solutions

We install, clean and repair stormwater drainage to prevent flooding and water damage during heavy rain.

We check the drainage system, the fall of the ground, and the condition of surface gulleys. Flooding after heavy rain is often caused by poor surface water run-off rather than a broken pipe.

Signs of a drainage problem

  • Slow draining in several fixtures at once
  • A bad smell coming from drain covers or pipework on the property
  • Gurgling from the toilet when the washing machine runs
  • Damp patches or ground subsidence near the house
  • Repeat blockages at the same spot
  • Wastewater is backing up into a sink, bath, shower or toilet
Our process

How we work

1. Consultation

We find out exactly what's blocked, how long it's been going on, and whether it keeps recurring, so we can bring the right equipment: a rod, jetting, or a camera.

2. Assessment

Where needed, we run a CCTV survey to see the exact cause: grease, roots, a crack, or a displaced joint. We show the footage to you directly.

3. Clear Quote

We show you what we found, explain the available remedies and confirm the cost before proceeding.

4. Clearance

We clear the immediate blockage using rodding or high-pressure jetting as appropriate.

5. Repair & Test

Where required, we reline or replace the damaged section and test the full run for free flow.

6. Prevention

We explain the cause and provide practical advice to reduce the chance of another blockage.

Common Questions

Everything you need to know about drainage

Will you need to dig up my garden to fix a pipe?

Relining, a trenchless method, restores a damaged pipe from the inside in most cases, without any digging at all. This works by inserting a resin-coated liner into the existing pipe and curing it in place, creating a new pipe within the old one. It's particularly useful in Chiswick's terraced properties, where the drain run often passes under a patio, driveway or extension that would otherwise need to be excavated. Relining isn't suitable for every situation: if a pipe has collapsed completely or shifted significantly out of alignment, a section may still need to be dug up and replaced conventionally. We'll only recommend this once the CCTV survey confirms it's genuinely necessary.

How often should I get a CCTV drain survey?

For properties with older pipework, mature trees nearby, or a history of recurring blockages, we suggest a survey every two to three years so that any developing cracks or root ingress are caught early. It's also worth arranging one before buying a property, since drainage issues are rarely visible during a standard viewing and can be expensive to fix once you're the new owner. Selling a property is another good time to have one done, as it can pre-empt a buyer's own survey turning up a surprise. Outside of these situations, a survey is also the right first step whenever blockages keep coming back in the same spot despite repeated clearing.

Can I try to clear a blockage myself before you arrive?

A plunger is generally fine to try on a localised blockage in a single sink or basin, and it often resolves simple, shallow blockages without any need for a callout. Avoid pouring strong chemical drain cleaners down the pipe: these can damage older pipework, react unpredictably with certain materials, and make it harder for us to diagnose the actual cause once we arrive. If the blockage affects more than one fixture at once, or water is backing up rather than draining slowly, it's usually a sign the problem is further down the system than a plunger can reach. In that case it's best to stop attempting DIY fixes and call us so we can assess it with the right equipment.

Who's responsible for repairing the main pipe near the boundary of my property?

The section of pipe serving only your property, up to where it meets the public sewer or a shared lateral drain, is typically the owner's responsibility to maintain and repair. Beyond that point, responsibility usually passes to the local water company, though this can vary depending on whether the pipe is shared with neighbouring properties. This is a common source of confusion, particularly in terraced streets where several houses' drains combine before reaching the public network. As part of our CCTV inspection we can help identify where the boundary falls and, where necessary, point you toward the right organisation to raise a report with.

What's the difference between jetting and rodding a drain?

Rodding uses a flexible rod pushed through the pipe to physically break up or dislodge a blockage. It's a quick, effective option for straightforward blockages close to an access point. High-pressure jetting uses a powerful jet of water to blast through the blockage while also scouring grease, scale and debris from the pipe walls along its entire length. This means jetting tends to extend the time before the next blockage occurs, since it leaves the pipe genuinely cleaner rather than just clearing the immediate obstruction. We'll recommend whichever method suits the specific problem, and sometimes use both together for particularly stubborn or long-standing blockages.

Does a slow-draining sink always mean a full blockage?

A sink that drains slowly but eventually empties is often a partial blockage building up gradually, commonly from grease, soap residue or hair. Left unaddressed, a partial blockage tends to worsen over time and can eventually become a full one, so it's worth having it looked at. If several fixtures in the property are all draining slowly at the same time, that's a stronger sign the issue is further down the system, in a shared section of pipe rather than at the individual fixture. Either way, catching it early usually means a simpler and less disruptive fix.

Need help now?

A recurring blockage means you should check the pipe on camera instead of just clearing it again.
